Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards told a court he fears the mother of one of his children will spend child-support payments on DraftKings, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
In filings, Edwards said Alexandria Desroches testified that she placed bets on the sports-gambling platform dozens of times per month in 2025 while arguing that the support he provided was inadequate. He also claimed she omitted income, including cash tips from a second job, and overstated expenses related to their son.
Edwards has been ordered to pay $14,000 a month in child support. He asked that a portion of the payments go into a trust, with a trustee controlling distributions, out of concern the money would be used for gambling.
Desroches rejected the request. She noted that Edwards has not sought parenting time, has not met their son in person, and does not know whether he has sent the child a gift. She acknowledged gambling on DraftKings but said the wagers were typically about $10 and placed “out of boredom.” She added that she has stopped using the account. Records she cited showed a net of $998.20 in DraftKings activity for 2025.
Edwards and Desroches share a son, Amir, born in 2023. The new filings continue a child-support dispute that previously produced a $14,000 monthly order, which included a basic obligation plus upward deviations based on Edwards’ income. Court documents in the case have listed his gross monthly income in the range of roughly $3.4 million to nearly $4.8 million, consistent with his multiyear Timberwolves contract.
Edwards has also faced separate child-support proceedings involving other mothers of his children. A Georgia court previously ordered him to pay $3,222 a month to Ayesha Howard for their daughter; he and Howard recently concluded another phase of that litigation. Public reporting has indicated Edwards has four children with four women, with the births clustered between late 2023 and late 2024.
The latest filings center on whether any of the $14,000 monthly payment should be restricted. Desroches has argued the money is needed to support their son; Edwards has asked the court to limit her direct access because of the documented gambling activity. No ruling on the trust request has been reported.
